DG ACE Orders Investigation Against Corrupt Officials

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22th August, 2016) : Director General Anti-Corruption Establishment Punjab Brig (R) Muzaffar Ali Ranjha has said that the ACE would be transformed as an independent and reliable investigation agency. He said that relentless investigation would be conducted against the government servants involved in plundering national exchequer.
Addressing monthly review meeting of regional directors here Monday, he said that in order to enhance professional capabilities of investigation officers for white-collar crime investigation, training within and outside the country would be imparted.
He announced facilitating field officers to make anti-corruption team more vibrant for on-the-spot investigation and timely arrest of the accused involved in corruption.
He directed the regional directors to review and dispose of long-awaiting cases, pending with the ACE within a period of 15 days under intimation to the DG.
The DG ACE briefed the participants about one-month performance of the establishment and said that 1,829 complaints of corruption were received during the last month. Out of which, 1,391 approved for regular inquiry and 469 were referred to the departments concerned for necessary action.
He was informed that field offices were facing shortage of vehicles due to which proclaimed offenders involved in corruption were at large. The DC ACE assured the directors that new vehicles would be provided to regional directorates for the purpose.
