ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th july,2016) : Member of the so-called Kashmir Assembly and the President of Awami Ittehad Party (AIP), Engineer Abdur Rasheed, met the German diplomats, members of Indian Parliament and various social and human rights activists and apprised them of the atrocities of Indian forces on the people of occupied Kashmir. According to KMS, a statement issued by the AIP said that Engineer Abdur Rasheed along with a party delegation held detailed deliberations in New Delhi with German diplomats, many members of Indian Parliament including K C Tyagi, Sudhindra Bhadoria, and various social and human rights activists and groups.
It said that the delegation appealed them to understand sufferings of people of the occupied territory and force New Delhi to stop its brutalities on the unarmed Kashmiris. Engineer Rasheed made it clear that Kashmiris should not be held responsible for the current situation in Kashmir as it is not due to any law and order problem but the reason is India's continued failure to resolve the Kashmir dispute, which has been kept burning since 1947, the statement said.
The deputation sought intervention from the civilized and saner voices within and outside India to ask New Delhi to resolve the Kashmir dispute for lasting peace in the South Asian region, it said. "AIP deputation gave detailed briefing during the meetings about the excessive use of force by Indian forces on peaceful protestors, the damages caused due to use of pellet guns and increasing sufferings of Kashmiri people due to imposition of strict curfew in entire Kashmir and sought immediate intervention to end the siege of the Valley," the statement added.
