
Food Safety Drive Continues In Gujrat

GUJRAT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 5th May, 2026) The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) conducted 132 inspections across Gujrat district on the directions of Deputy Director Punjab Food Authority Rizwan Saeed.
According to official sources, 40 improvement notices were issued to various food business operators over violations of hygiene and food safety standards.
Furthermore, fines amounting to Rs111,000 were imposed on 14 food businesses for non-compliance with food safety regulations.
During the inspections, 1 kilogram of substandard and expired food items was also disposed of.
The Punjab Food Authority reiterated that operations would continue without interruption to ensure the provision of safe and quality food to the public, and strict legal action would be taken against violators.
