LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Jul, 2025) Hanjarwal Police have arrested four suspects, including two women, allegedly involved in a honey trap scheme on Friday.
According to police spokesperson, the suspects were apprehended during a targeted operation conducted by Hanjarwal Police using modern technology. The accused were identified as Nadeem, Umair, Rubina and Ayesha.
The spokesperson said that Rubina contacted a citizen named Waqar through mobile phone and lured him to her location under false pretenses. Upon arrival, the victim was illegally detained, subjected to physical torture and recorded in inappropriate videos.
It was further revealed that the main accused, Nadeem, an employee of Civil Defence, impersonated a police officer to intimidate the victim.
The suspects reportedly blackmailed Waqar and extorted money from him by threatening to release the videos.
A case has been registered against the accused and further investigation is underway. The matter has been handed over to the investigation wing for detailed inquiry.
Superintendent of Police Dr. Muhammad Umar appreciated SHO Adeel Anjum, Sub-Inspector Idrees and the police team for their performance and announced commendation certificates for their efforts.
“Those who exploit innocent citizens will face strict legal action,” said Umar.
