ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 8th May, 2026) The High Commissioner of Malaysia to Pakistan, Dato' Mohammad Azhar Mazlan, paid an official visit to Aghosh College Murree as part of continued efforts to strengthen educational, humanitarian, and people-to-people relations between Malaysia and Pakistan.

The visit reflected the growing commitment of both countries to enhance cooperation in youth development, educational exchange, and community welfare initiatives, particularly through collaboration with welfare institutions and non-governmental organisations dedicated to social uplift and human development.

Upon his arrival at the college, the High Commissioner was warmly welcomed by Prof. Dr. Hafeez ur Rahman, President of Al Khidmat Foundation Pakistan, along with members of the college administration and senior faculty.

During the visit, the Malaysian envoy received a comprehensive briefing on the institution’s academic programmes, facilities, student welfare initiatives, and ongoing development projects. He also toured various sections of the campus and interacted with faculty members and students, said a release issued here on Friday.

During bilateral discussions, both sides exchanged views on expanding cooperation in the fields of education, youth empowerment, and professional capacity building.

Particular emphasis was placed on strengthening linkages through the Malaysian Technical Cooperation Programme (MTCP), which offers opportunities for academic exchange, specialised training programmes, and scholarships for Pakistani students.

The discussions also highlighted the importance of institutional collaboration in providing broader educational exposure and professional development opportunities for young people in both countries.

Participants expressed optimism that such partnerships would contribute positively to mutual understanding and long-term bilateral engagement.

A major highlight of the visit was an interactive session between the High Commissioner and the students of Aghosh College Murree. Addressing the gathering, H.E. Dato’ Mohammad Azhar Mazlan shared valuable insights into Malaysia’s history, multicultural society, economic transformation, and educational landscape. He also underscored the longstanding and cordial relations between Malaysia and Pakistan, describing the relationship as one rooted in shared values, mutual respect, and cooperation.

The session concluded with a lively question-and-answer segment, during which students enthusiastically engaged with the High Commissioner on topics including higher education opportunities in Malaysia, technological innovation, tourism, cultural diversity, and Malaysia’s role within ASEAN.

As a gesture of goodwill and friendship, the High Commissioner distributed 300 packs of traditional Malaysian delicacies, including Nasi Lemak and Mee Goreng, among the students and staff members of the college.

The initiative was warmly appreciated and added a cultural dimension to the visit.

To commemorate the occasion, H.E. Dato’ Mohammad Azhar Mazlan also planted a sapling within the college premises, symbolising the enduring friendship, shared prosperity, and steadily growing partnership between Malaysia and Pakistan.

The visit concluded on a positive note, reaffirming the commitment of both sides to fostering stronger educational and humanitarian ties for the benefit of future generations.
