ICT To Launch 3rd Phase Of Anti-dengue Prevention Campaign In

ISLAMABAD,(UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Augst,2016) : District Health Department, Islamabad has planned extensive campaign against dengue in the rural areas of Islamabad from the next month and completed all necessary arrangements in this regard.
According to sources, the district health officials plan extensive drive against dengue in the rural areas and special teams will be constituted for destroying mosquito breeding places.
The officials would carry out the larvicidal activity to eliminate the dengue mosquitoes. Sanitary inspectors and the Lady Health Workers have been advised to identify active breeding sites by making extensive visits in the villages, bazaars and congested areas where the rain water gets collected in rains. The district health officials had already launched extensive anti-dengue drive in the rural areas of Islamabad in three phases from March to July 2016 whereby fumigation and spray were carried out at over 1500 places.
The Department also carried out awareness campaign in the rural areas against dengue and educated the community about the significance of cleanliness. Hundreds posters and pamphlets were distributed in the community about preventive measures against dengue. The health officials of district administration has directed to launch other round of anti-dengue drive in the rural areas immediately and also visit the vulnerable areas for anti-mosquito spray and fumigation.
Health Department has asked the community to keep their surrounding and houses clean and keep the water capped in home utensils.
