IIUI's Dawah Academy holds Quran memorization competition

ISLAMABAD, Dec 6 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 06th Dec, 2016 ) : Dawah Academy of International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) Tuesday organized 'Quran Memorization Competition' here at Faisal Masjid in which more than 100 Hufaz participated in various categories of the competition.

The competition was divided in three categories 10 para, 20 para and full Quranic memorization, a press release issued here said. First prize in full Quranic category was won by Muhammad Younis, First prize in 20 para category was won by Muhammad Abu Bakar, while Muhammad Akaasha claimed first position in 10 para category.

On the occasion competition of Husn e Qirat was also held. Qari Muhammad Ikhlaq Madni, Maulana Qari Abdul Ghafoor, Qari Abdur Rehman and Qari Abdur Rehman Hafeez were the judges for the competition.

Concluding ceremony of the competition was presided over by the Acting President IIUI Dr. Muhammad Bashir Khan, while it was also attended by Chairman Pakistan Madrisa education board Dr. Amir Tehsaan, Director Dawah Academy Dr.

Sohail Hassan and other officials of the academy. Dr. Muhmmad Bashir Khan said Quran is solution to all problems and youth should seek guidance from the holy book. He urged to hold such competitions with more frequency so youth could get more involved learning from teachings of Quran. Dr. Sohail Hassan said the academy is mulling to conduct this competition on province level as well.
