Kashmiris to observe August 5 as Black Day against India's move

MIRPUR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Jul, 2025) Kashmiris around the world will observe August 5 as a black day to protest against India's decision to scrap the special status of disputed Jammu and Kashmir state seven years ago.

Advisor to the Azad Jammu Kashmir President, Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry, for Overseas Kashmiris, Muhammad Aslam Mughal, made the announcement at a news conference at the Kashmir Press Club in Mirpur on Wednesday.

Mughal emphasized that Kashmiris will hold extraordinary protests to expose India's unconstitutional move and deny Kashmiris their birthright to self-determination.

He highlighted that Kashmiris worldwide will observe August 5 as a black day, condemning India's sinister act and demanding their right to self-determination.

He praised the bravery of Pakistan's armed forces, led by Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, for crushing India's arrogance and making Pakistanis and Kashmiris proud globally.

Mughal also emphasized the importance of overseas Kashmiris in highlighting the Kashmir freedom movement and the Kashmir issue.

Mughal urged the Pakistani government to start work on an international airport project in Mirpur, citing the large number of overseas Kashmiris belonging to the Mirpur division.
