The Muslim Unity Council (MUC) members addressing a press conference expressed grave concern over the civilian killings in the territory and assured full support to the people of the Valley.

A blanket ban on the print and electronic media in the Valley is the most unfortunate, they said, and added that democratic rights of the people should not be curbed. The Chief Patron of JKLF-R, Barrister Abdul Majeed Tramboo, in a statement issued in Srinagar said that by imposing curbs on print and electronic media and continued curfew, the puppet administration was hiding the facts about the killings and providing shield to killer forces.

He urged the international community to initiate an independent enquiry into the recent killings in the occupied territory. The Jammu and Kashmir Students and Youth League President, Naqeeb Adnan, and Bilal Ahmad Butt of Jammu and Kashmir Youth Civil Society in their separate statements in Srinagar said that the use of brute force could not suppress the Kashmiris' ongoing liberation movement. The spokesman of Tehreek-e-Muzahamat in a statement in Srinagar denounced the recent killings across the Valley.

He said that on one hand, the forces' personnel were showering bullets and pellets over the unarmed people and on the other, the puppet regime had strangulated the electronic and print media in the territory.
