
KP Body Discuss Call Attention Notice About Water Supply To Murree From Galyat

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Jul, 2025) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Standing Committee on Tourism on Wednesday discussed call attention notice of Rajab Ali Abbasi relating to supply of water to Murree from Galyat.
The meeting was chaired by Sharafat Ali and attended by members including Rajab Ali, Munir Hussain, Neelofar Babar, Sameeullah, Taj Tarnad, and Jalal Khan besides concerned officials. Chairman of the committee said that water was being supplied to Murree from pre-partition but it is unfortunate that KP has not received a single penny.
He said that water is being supplied to Murree from last 77 years and KP should receive 880 million rupees annually at a rate of one rupee per liter.
He suggested raising the issue in Council of Common Interests or Supreme Court.
He said that people of the province have the first right over the water adding that the water should be supplied to other areas after fulfilling requirement of people of KP living in Galyat. He said that water was being supplied to Muree from the last 77 years.
Meeting suggested that people of Galyat should be first beneficiary of their resources including water or gas. Members also vows to protect natural resources of the province.
