
Massive Fire Destroys Mini-market In Kharian, Six Shops Burnt

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 30th May, 2026) A massive fire engulfed a mini-market in Kharian on Saturday, reducing six shops and two loader rickshaws to ashes and causing heavy financial losses to traders.
According to rescue officials, the fire erupted in a mini-market located on Kotla Sadwal Road in Kharian. Upon receiving the emergency call, Rescue 1122 teams rushed to the scene and launched an operation to contain the
blaze, private news channel reported.
After several hours of firefighting efforts, rescuers managed to bring the fire under control, preventing it from spreading to nearby buildings and businesses.
Rescue sources said six shops were completely destroyed in the incident. Goods stored inside the shops, along with two loader rickshaws worth millions of rupees, were reduced to ashes, causing substantial financial losses to the owners.
The affected shops had been closed for the Eid holidays at the time of the incident. The exact cause of the fire could not be determined so far.
Rescue officials noted that this was the second fire incident reported in the area within the past four days.
