Minister Inaugurates Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Oct, 2025) Punjab Minister for sports and Youth Affairs Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar formally inaugurated the Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign at Farooq Hospital, Thokar Niaz Baig, here on Saturday.

The ceremony was attended by doctors, medical experts, social personalities, a large number of women, and members of the hospital administration.

Addressing the inaugural ceremony, the provincial minister urged women across Punjab to remain vigilant about their health. “If any unusual lump appears in the body, it is important to consult a doctor immediately, as timely screening and treatment can save lives,” he said.

Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar emphasized that breast cancer is not an incurable disease, but its treatment must begin without delay. He said that the Punjab government is taking all possible measures to safeguard women’s health, and awareness campaigns like these will be further promoted with the support of the private sector.

“The efforts of private hospitals and organizations in raising awareness about breast cancer are commendable, and the Punjab government will extend full cooperation to such initiatives,” he added.

Highlighting the need for community participation, the minister said that social organizations and educational institutions should also play their role in spreading awareness at the public level. “We all must actively take part in welfare and service-oriented activities. In today’s era, health awareness campaigns are essential so that every citizen acts responsibly toward their own health and that of their loved ones,” he stated.

Appreciating the efforts of the hospital administration, Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar said that such initiatives spread a message of hope, awareness, and improvement within society, encouraging collective responsibility for health and wellbeing.
