Mirwaiz Denounces Continued Killing Spree In IOK

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd july,2016) : The Chairman of Hurriyet forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has strongly condemned the killing spree unleashed by Indian forces in the territory. Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, who is under house arrest in Srinagar, in a statement said that the continued curfew and restrictions had created an emergency-like situation regarding essential commodities, baby food and medicines in the entire Kashmir Valley, Kashmir Media Service (KMS) reported. The Mirwaiz castigated the occupation authorities for using brute force on peaceful protesters in the territory and said that they had crossed all limits of barbarism by killing more than 50 civilians and injuring thousands of people, some of them maimed and handicapped forever with over 150 losing their eyesight.
He said that the entire occupied Kashmir had been converted into a large jail where the basic rights of the people had been usurped completely which should be a cause of concern for the entire civilized world. The Mirwaiz appealed to the UN, Organisation of Islamic Cooperation and the European Union besides the world human rights organizations to impress upon India to end its naked aggression and barbarism in the occupied territory and give the Kashmiris their right to self-determination.
