NHA Executive Board Approves Award Of Contract For Important

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21th july, 2016) : The Executive Board of the National Highway Authority approved the award of contract for important road project in Baluchistan. The board met at NHA head office today with Chairman Shahid Ashraf Tarar in the chair to review progress on countrywide highway schemes and various financial and administrative affairs of the authority. Yackmach-Kharan road (50 km) lies in the remote district of Kharan and is a vital link that will greatly help in regulating the traffic flow especially the heavy commercial vehicles.
It will cost around Rs, 2.43 billion. The Chairman NHA directed the concerned staff to immediately mobilize all resources to the construction site to ensure timely completion of this important project.
He said highway construction work in Balochistan was given highest priority and no delay will be tolerated in projects that lie in the less developed parts of the country.
He hoped the road once completed will give a push to the commercial and trade activities in the area through improved connectivity with other parts of the province.
He informed the meeting that record number of NHA projects were under execution in the province which will not only improve the overall road infrastructure but also provide linkages to the strategic Port of Gwadar with the up country. Shaukat Hayat,IG (NH&MP), Malik Ahmed Khan, Member (Infrastructure) P&D Division, Syed Ghazanfar Abbas Jailani, Additional Secretary (Finance), Altaf Asghar, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Communications, Azhar Masood, Vice President H & TED NESPAK, Raja Nowsherwan, Member (Planning) NHA, Shoaib Ahmed Khan, Member (Finance)NHA, Nazir Ahmed Chief (Engineer) NTRC and Ali Akbar Memon, Secretary, NHA participated in the meeting.
