Over 200 SSU Commandos Donate Blood

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th August, 2016) : Over 200 officers and commandos including lady commandos of Special Security Unit donated blood for the needy patients suffering from different diseases including Thalassemia or injured in accidents. They donated the blood in a donation camp setup in the SSU Headquarters, said a statement on Monday. Commandant SSU, Maqsood Ahmed also donated blood at the blood donation camp, which is setup in collaboration with Muhammadi Blood Bank.
Visiting the camp, Maqsood Ahmed said the blood screening of all commandos and officers have already been completed aimed at to ensure that the blood being donated is healthy and free from any infection and disease.
As a preventive measures, all the commandos and senior officers are being vaccinated regularly to protect them from Hepatitis-B, he added. The commandant said the professionally trained commandos including officers are committed to provide effective security to common man and also take active participation in public service by donating blood. Maqsood Ahmed further informed that the camp will be setup 2-3 times in every year at SSU Headquarters.
Later, Commandant SSU distributed gifts among the children suffering from Thalassemia.
