PAC Milestone For Agri Sector

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th August, 2016) : Provincial Secretary Agriculture Muhammad Mahmood Friday said establishment of the Punjab Agriculture Commission (PAC) would be a milestone for betterment of the agriculture sector. Talking to APP, he said the Punjab chief minister had fulfilled another promise by making the commission which would help grow the national economy. He said the PAC would bring about prosperity for farmers besides evolving a comprehensive agriculture policy.
Muhammad Mahmood confirmed that the PAC would be an autonomous and its separate secretariat would be set up, adding that the government has given effective representation to farmers in this commission.
To a question, he said the role of the commission was of vital importance for the protection of rights of small cultivators. Mahmood said on the direction of the Punjab chief minister, sub committees were being set up which would be made regarding food, livestock, irrigation and agriculture.
The secretary said the Kisan Package had been given for prosperity of small cultivators to increase per acre yield.
