
Pesco Imposes Rs 120,000 Fine To Power Pilferer

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd july,2016) : The PESCO authorities here Friday imposed a fine of Rs 120,000 to a power pilferer for using electricity through direct hocks. On the directions of Chief Executive Pesco, Anwar ul Haq Yousafzai drive against illegal use of electricity was accelerated throughout the province, says PESCO press release. In this connection, the surveillance team under the supervision of Director Surveillance Naeem Khan, Deputy Director Riaz Kakar and Deputy Director Mujahid Khan along with SDO Shahi Bagh and Pesco police raided at Hassan Ghari Mohallah Hussainabad and nabbed a person Jahangir S/o Muhammad Yousaf who was taking direct connection from LT Line. The accused was not only using electricity thorough direct hocks but was also providing its supply to four others. The PESCO staff removed direct connection and imposed a fine of Rs 120,000 upon him.
An FIR has also been lodged against the accused and was arrested. Another person was also caught red handed in the same areas while using direct power connection. Similarly, SDO Shahi Bagh Aurangzeb along with his team raided in the areas of Hassan Ghari, Madina Colony, Afghan Colony and Charsadda Road and nabbed several persons for using illegal electricity. Assessment charges of Rs 400,000 have also been imposed upon them.
During the action, several direct connections have been disconnected. An amount of Rs 369,094 has also been recovered from the defaulters. Similarly, in the supervision of SDO Warsak-1 Muhammad Riaz teams disconnected power supply from 50 KVA transformer and HT Line due to long outstanding arrears.
