PFA Gears Up Drive Against Unhygienic Food Across City

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Nov, 2016 ) : A team of Punjab Food Authority (PFA) headed by Director Operations, Rafia Haider sealed Shahid Grinding Unit Bhogiwal for preparing substandard and unhygienic turmeric and red chilies and arrested two persons.

PFA team handed over the accused to police besides seizing 500 kg sawdust. Meanwhile, Allama Iqbal Town team imposed a heavy fine to Butt Sweets at PIA Road, Chaman Ice Cream and Tea Studio on poor arrangements of cleanliness, presence of flies and other insects on eatable items.

Aziz Bhatti Town team sealed Sarfaraz Nimko Soling Road for having substandard machinery, presence of spider network near eatable items and unavailability of medical certificates of the workers.

Samanabad Town team imposed heavy fine to Pizza 21 and Kashmir Naan Shop, Karim Market on use of substandard chicken and presence of waste near eatable items.

Data Ganj Bakhsh Town team imposed a fine to Food Planet Mozang Road on showing negligence to warning issued a few days ago and improper cleanliness arrangements.

Moreover, Provincial Minister for Food Bilal Yasin and Director Operations Rafia Haider inaugurated Punjab Food Authority office at Gujranwala. The Minister said that PFA, acting upon Healthy Punjab Vision of Chief Minister Punjab, was tightening noose against anti-nation elements selling adulterated and unhygienic food.

He said, "Provision of healthy food is our objective and in this connection, the scope of Punjab Food Authority is being expanded to every city of the province."
