
PHA Taking Measures To Protect Horticulture From Rain Effects

RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Jul, 2025) The Parks and Horticulture Authority(PHA) is taking special measures to protect the plants and flowers from damage
caused by rains, following the Meteorological Department's forecast of heavy rains from July 15 to August 31.
According to the PHA spokesman, the Director General of PHA, Ahmed Hassan Ranjha, has given special instructions to the staff for the protection of flowers and plants planted in parks and green belts for decoration, beauty and promotion of a lush environment in view of the heavy rains.
He said that workers were carrying out cleaning and preserving horticulture work to maintain the freshness of flowers and plants.
PHA was also taking steps to make the rain harvesting process more effective during the heavy rains, while stagnant water was also being removed from the parks, he added.
Highlighting the importance of plantation, he urged the residents to plant more trees during the ongoing season, as plantation was vital to tackling climate change and promoting a green environment.
