
PM Felicitates Newly Elected CPNE Office-bearers

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 3rd May, 2026) Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has congratulated the newly-elected office-bearers of the Council of Pakistan Newspaper Editors (CPNE), extending his best wishes to President Kazim Khan, Secretary General Ghulam Nabi Chandio, Senior Vice President Ayaz Khan, Vice Presidents Shakeel Ahmed Turabi and Anwar Sajidi, Secretary Information Munazza Seham, and other members.
In a statement on Saturday, he said that a free, responsible, and well-informed media is a fundamental pillar of a democratic society. He expressed hope that the new leadership of CPNE would play an effective role in promoting journalistic values, fact-based reporting, and safeguarding national interests.
The Prime Minister further stated that the government would continue to extend full cooperation for the promotion of press freedom and the resolution of issues faced by the media industry.
