PSC Budget For The Year 2016-17 Approved

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23th August, 2016) : Punjab Agriculture Minister Dr Farrukh Javed has given approval of Punjab Seed Corporation (PSC) budget of Rs 3330 million for the year 2016-17. The minister gave approval at the 107th meeting of the PSC Board of Directors on Wednesday, says a press release issued here. The minister also gave approval for wheat seed target fixed at 60,000 metric tonnes, cotton 2400 metric tonnes, rice 2600 metric tonnes, 691 metric tonnes of different pulses, maize 600 metric tonnes and 244 metric tonnes of different vegetables.
The seed target has been fixed at 20 percent more than the previous year's. Punjab Agriculture Secretary Capt (R) Muhammad Mehmood emphasised more steps to increase the yield of maize hybrid seed.
The meeting also gave approval for employees' salaries as per government's new pay scale. Later, Minister Dr Farrukh Javed told the media that the PSC was providing quality seeds to farmers on low rates. Haseeb Aslam Khan from the Finance Department, Dr Ahmad Bilal from Planning and Development, PSC MD Nasir Saleem, directors Chaudhry Manzoor Hussain, Aslam Mansoor, Tariq Mehmood, Sarwar Shamsi, Dr Shahid Ayaz, Muhammad Javed, Shehbaz Hussain Shah, Nasir Ejaz Ahmad, Qazi Ghulam Abbass, Hafiz Inam-ul-Haq and others were present on the occasion.
