
PWPA Meeting Makes Decisions On Women's Protection, Empowerment

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Oct, 2025) Women have the right to live a life free from fear and oppression, following the vision of Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Punjab Women Protection Authority (PWPA) concluded in a meeting on Saturday.
These remarks were expressed by the Chairperson PWPA , Hina Pervaiz Butt while chairing a meeting in which members of the Punjab Assembly, representatives of relevant departments and other board members participated.
Hina Pervaiz Butt said that no woman is alone, the state stands with every oppressed woman, adding justice and protection for women is the top priority of the Punjab government.
Important decisions were taken in the meeting regarding the protection, empowerment, legal support and institutional improvement of women, and a detailed review of the ongoing measures for women under the vision of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif was taken.
Hina Pervaiz Butt said that Women Protection Centers and Helpline 1737 have become a center of hope for affected women. She said we are making the system of immediate legal, psychological and welfare support more effective so that every woman feels safe, empowered and respected, this is our mission and commitment.
At the end of the meeting, the board members appreciated the government's initiatives and reiterated their commitment to continue joint efforts to protect women's rights.
