ISLAMABAD,(UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Augst,2016) : The Muslims in Rajouri, Kishtwar and Banihal towns in Jammu region observed complete shutdown against the killing of innocent civilians by Indian forces in the Kashmir Valley. Shops, business establishments and educational institutions of the Muslim community in Indian held Kashmir remained closed while the movement of traffic on Srinagar-Jammu Highway was thin.
According to KMS, the occupation authorities had deployed Indian troops and police personnel in strength to prevent people from staging protests against the ongoing killing spree unleashed by Indian forces' personnel after the extra-judicial killing of mujahid commander, Burhan Wani, in a fake encounter by Indian troops on July 8, this year.
However, a large number of people held pro-freedom demonstrations and chanted anti-India slogans. The traders and Masjid Committees in Banihal have unanimously decided to suspend all the business activities for two days in a week on every Thursday and Friday to express their commitment to the `Kashmir cause and to denounce the innocent killings and use of pellet guns on the protestors in the Valley.
