RTI Act Bringing Transparency To Projects

MULTAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th Apr, 2018 ) ::The Punjab government has introduced Right to Information (RTI) Act with an objective to provide requisite information to people about different projects and affairs of the government departments.
The Transparency International has acknowledged that corruption rate has decreased remarkably after introduction of the act. This was stated by Additional Deputy Commissioner Manzoor Khan Chandio in an awareness session, held here on Sunday.
The RTI Act is very much useful for lawyers, journalists and other people.
People could get any specific information about any development project. Executive Director Punjab Information Commission Ahmed Naeem said that all government departments were bound to provide required information to people.
In case, any department was not cooperating, people could contact the Punjab Information Commission, said Executive Director Ahmed Naeem Malik. On this occasion, local journalists and lawyers were also present. APP/qbs/akt/rsd
