Secretary NH&LH Lauds Efforts Of NBF For Organizing "Summer Book Club"

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 2nd Augst,2016) : Secretary National History and Literary Heritage Division Mohsin S.Haqqani on Tuesday visited main office of the National Book Foundation (NBF) and lauded the on-going book reading promotions schemes of the Foundation.
Speaking on the occasion, the Secretary said that NBF was playing vital role in the promotion of book reading habits among the people specially students. He also visited the on-going month-long summer book club organized by the Foundation for children under age 6 to 12 years.
Earlier, he visited various sections of the Foundation including Book Park, Stone Book, Model Book Shop, Readers Book Club, National Book Museum, Book Corners, Book Tree and My Book Shelf.
Managing Director NBF Prof. Dr. Inam ul Haq Javeid briefed the Secretary about various ongoing schemes of the Foundation. He apprised the visiting secretary that the Foundation would establish `Ibn-e-Khaldun Literary Corner' in the main office of the Foundation with the support of Tunis.
"In order to strengthen relations through literature and culture, a special project has been formulated by NBF to prepare corners of brotherly countries national poets and scholars," he said. He said that it would promot book reading and partnerships with brotherly countries.
