PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th August, 2016) : Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak Thursday presided over Select Committee meeting that cleared the draft of Conflict of Interest Bill to be tabled in KP assembly for enactment. Senior Minister for local government InayatUllah Khan, Minister for Law, Imtiaz Shahid Qureshi, Minister for Public Health Engineering Shah Farman, Special Assistant to CM, Arif Yousaf Parliamentary Secretary Dr.
Haider Ali, MPAs Shaukat Yousafzai, Qalander Lodhi, Jehandad Khan, Mehmood Bhatani, and others attended the meeting. The meeting also discussed different sections and clauses of the proposed law designed for prevention of conflict of interest. Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister remarked that basic philosophy behind the proposed legislation is to put some safeguards against the misuse of power and authority.
He said his government wanted absolute transparency in all public dealings. We have created a system of governance where there is no space for any wrongdoings. The proposed law would ensure that power is to be used for public welfare and there would be no whimsical decisions by those wielding power and authority, he said. The Chief Minister cleared that this law will take a stoke from the top because malpractices can be prevented only through top bottom approach and would certainly a trickledown effect on the whole system. The proposed bill, expected to be tabled in Friday's session of the provincial assembly, would be a check on all influencing tactics previously used by the authority in power to protect its interests
