Senate Body Urges Resolution Of Poor's Problems

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 31th August, 2016) : Senate Standing Committee on Cabinet Secretariat Wednesday stressed for the resolution of poor people issues on urgent basis and in accordance with the law. The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Senator Muhammad Talha Mehmood. The Committee said that officials of department including ERRA should jointly work for rehabilitation and reconstruction of the buildings destroyed in 2005 earthquake. Deputy Chairman Earthquake Reconstruction and Rehabilitation Authority (ERRA) Brigadier Abu Bakr Amin Bajwa briefing the Committee said Khalifa City was constructed by ERRA at a cost of Rs 26 Million and handed over to affected families without any delay. He said some elements were criticizing the work of ERRA to serve their personal interest but local residents are happy over the work of organization. Committee member Shahi Syed said all department involved in this important project should work at their end and provide basic facilities to those people who are waiting for it.

The Committee Chairman Senator Muhammad Talha Mehmood appreciated the role of District Coordination Officer (DCO) Mansehra. The Committee directed the ERRA and other related department to hand over the plots which are ready to affected families and ensure all plots are given accordingly. Muhammad Ilyas, the Committee member Senator Kamil Ali Agha said plot possession was not given reportedly by a leading private developer. He said amount of the plot was deposited and allottee has been waiting for twelve years. He suggested that petitioner Ch.

Ilyas be called in person in next meeting. The Committee meeting was attended by Senator Shahi Shyed, Kamil Ali Agha, Kalsoom Parveen and other related officials.
