ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Nov, 2016 ) : The Senate Tuesday adopted a resolution strongly condemning the launching of a ballistic missile towards Makkah Al-Mukarramah on October 27, which fortunately was intercepted by air defence forces of the Saudi Kingdom and destroyed.
The resolution was moved by the Leader of the House in Senate Raja Zafar ul Haq which was passed by the House unanimously. The Senate called upon the OIC and Unite Nations Security Council to take serious notice of flouting of the inviolability of holy places which amounted to encroaching upon the religious sanctities of one billion Muslims throughout the world as stipulated in international conventions.
Representing the sentiments of the people of Pakistan and the Muslim world as a whole, it strongly condemned such actions which amounted to provoking the sentiments and feelings of the Muslims. It urged the government to re-assure its full support to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia towards the protection of sanctity of the holy places, which tied together the Muslims throughout the world.
