Shandur Polo Fesitval's Official Song Launched

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th july, 2016) : The Tourism Corporation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (TCKP) launched the official song of Shandur Polo Festival at a ceremony here Tuesday. Advisor to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Abdul Munim, TCKP Managing Director Mushtaq Ahmad Khan and General Manager (Administration & Properties) Sajad Hameed were also present on the occasion.
The song, which is sung by Mehtab Ziyab, hailing from Chitral, and Zeek Afridi, reflects the beauty, tradition, heritage and glamour of the 'King of the Games - Shandur Polo Festival', which is played every year since 1936 at the 'roof of the world'. The song is written by prominent lyricists of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa - Sami and Hanif Raza.
The song is sung in urdu and with some lyrics in Chitrali.
Speaking on the occasion, Adviser Abdul Munim lauded the TCKP for taking the initiative to make a song for the historical Shandur Games, which were held annually. He said there were many people who could not visit the area but through this song they could witness the games, the scenic beauty of the region and glamour of the festival. A large number of media personnel, who attended the ceremony, also appreciated the lyrics, song and video.
The song within a few minutes ogf launch went viral on the social media. The Shandur Polo Festival will be held on July 29-31 at Shandur. Like previous years a huge number of adventure lovers are expected to participate in the three-day majestic festival.
