
Shehbaz, Swedish Envoy Discuss Bilateral Ties

LAHORE,(UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23th july, 2016) : Swedish Ambassador to Pakistan Ms. Ingrid Johansson here on Saturday met Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif to discuss matters of mutual interest, bilateral relations and cooperation in different sectors. Talking to Swedish Ambassador, the Chief Minister said that Pakistan and Sweden enjoyed strong friendly relations, however, there was a need for taking steps for further promoting cooperation between the two countries in different sectors. The Swedish Ambassador said that cooperation with Pakistan especially Punjab would be continued. Meanwhile, a delegation led by Swedish Ambassador Ingrid Johansson called on Shehbaz Sharif and discussed matters regarding setting up a separate Punjab Road Safety Authority and Vehicle Inspection & Certification System (VICS).
The meeting agreed to speedily implement VICS programme.
The Chief Minister thanked Swedish Ambassador and OPUS group for inauguration of new center of VICS, adding that Punjab government would extend all out cooperation to the Swedish Group in this regard.
He said that completion of the system on fast track basis was essential as it concerns safety of human lives. Chairman OPUS Group, senior Swedish officials and Punjab Secretary Transport were also present.
