TDAP Must Equip Entrepreneurs To Tap Global Markets
Umer Jamshaid Published July 27, 2025 | 03:10 PM

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th Jul, 2025) Convener of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI)
Regional Committee on food Shahid Imran has emphasized the need for targeted training
programs to help Pakistani entrepreneurs access international markets.
Talking to a delegation of entrepreneurs led by former FPCCI Vice President Chaudhry
Zahid Iqbal Arain, here on Sunday, Shahid Imran said that many small and medium
enterprises (SMEs) in Pakistan face challenges such as limited understanding of export
procedures, poor documentation, lack of certifications, and difficulty in negotiating with
foreign buyers. These factors, he noted, significantly restrict their global outreach.
He urged the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) to bridge this gap by
organizing specialized workshops, mentorship sessions, and trade fairs that connect
local businesses with international buyers.
“Training in market research, compliance
standards, and digital marketing, particularly on platforms like Amazon and Alibaba,
can open up e-commerce-based export opportunities for SMEs,” he added.
With Pakistan’s economy in need of export-led growth, Shahid Imran stressed that
TDAP must take on a proactive role as a facilitator, equipping entrepreneurs with the
necessary skills and knowledge to compete globally. “By fostering a culture of innovation,
documentation, and regulatory compliance, we can significantly enhance Pakistan’s
export potential and strengthen our position in global markets,” he said.
He added that strategic investment in entrepreneurial training today will yield long-term
benefits for the national economy.
