SUKKUR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Aug, 2026) The Shaikh Ayaz University (TSAUS), Shikarpur and SEGi University, Malaysia, formalized a landmark partnership on Tuesday through a virtual Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony.
The agreement establishes a comprehensive framework for collaboration across academic programmes, research, student and faculty mobility, said a press release.
The signing ceremony witnessed by senior leadership from both institutions. Signing on behalf of their respective universities were Prof. Dr. Naveed Ahmed Shaikh, Vice Chancellor of the Shaikh Ayaz University, and Datin Prof. Dr. Mariani Binti Md Nor, Vice Chancellor of SEGi University.
The ceremony commenced with a soulful recitation from the Holy Quran by Dr. Riaz Ahmed Soomro, Dean of the Faculty of Management Sciences at the Shaikh Ayaz University, setting a blessed and dignified tone for the proceedings.
Following the recitation, the Focal Persons – Dr. Nadir Hussain Bhayo from TSAUS and Dr. Fanny Tian from SEGi University – welcomed the participants and introduced the event flow.
The programme included short speeches by both Vice Chancellors, the formal signing of the MoU (both on printed copies and via screen sharing), followed by an open discussion session and a group photograph.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Dr. Naveed Ahmed Shaikh expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, "This MoU marks a significant milestone for the Shaikh Ayaz University. It opens up vast opportunities for our faculty and students to engage in international academic and research activities, particularly within the fields of Education, Business, and English Studies."
Datin Prof. Dr. Mariani Binti Md Nor, Vice Chancellor of SEGi University, echoed these sentiments, saying, "We are delighted to welcome the Shaikh Ayaz University as a collaborative partner.
This partnership is a testament to our shared vision of creating global learning environments and fostering cross-cultural intellectual exchange for the benefit of our academic communities."
The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks and closing note delivered by Dr. Nadir Hussain Bhayo, Head of Teacher Education Department and Focal Person from The Shaikh Ayaz University, who expressed gratitude to all participants and reaffirmed the commitment to a fruitful collaboration.
This strategic alliance is designed to foster collaboration across a diverse range of activities, including academic Programmes and joint collaborations in all undergraduate, and graduate programmes available at both universities specially in Bachelor of Education (all models and specializations), M.Phil./Ph.D in Education, Diploma in Early Childhood Education, Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), BS-CS and IT, Commerce, Mathematics, and English Language and Literature programmes.
Student Mobility: Short-term academic visits, structured summer/vacation programmes, and semester-based student exchange programmes.
Faculty Exchange: Faculty exchanges for teaching, research, and project collaboration.
Joint Research: Collaborative research projects, joint publications, shared supervision of postgraduate students, thesis examinations, and editorial board memberships.
Academic Events: Joint organization of symposia, seminars, conferences, guest lectures, and workshops.
The MoU, which is valid for an initial term of five years, underscored both institutions' commitment to global academic excellence and international cooperation.
