USC Pursuing Full-fledged Monitoring System To Ensure Quality Of
Items

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th july,2016) : Utility Stores Corporation (USC) is pursuing a full-fledged monitoring and vigilance system to ensure quality of items being sold at its outlets in the country. The System is based at Zonal and Regional Offices as monitoring and vigilance of Stores is conducted on regular basis. Quality of items is checked by vigilance teams during their visits to stores. Highlighting the mechanism which has been devised to monitor quality of items being sold at Utility Stores, sources at Industries and Production Division on Tuesday Area Managers visits local stores on daily basis and outstation on weekly basis.
The sources said quality and items are also checked by Area Managers and Regional Managers during their visits to Stores. The other steps included checking of quality of commodities at time of bids/tenders and thorough checking of vendors samples by Tender Committee.
The samples of low quality are rejected. Moreover, the sources said quality of commodity is also checked at time of receipt of stocks at warehouses. The stocks supplied by vendors are compared and tallied with samples provided by them at time of bids/tenders. The quality of commodities is also checked at time of bulk breaking of same at USC warehouses while quality of commodities is also checked at time of receipt of supplies from warehouses to stores. The sources said no food item is enlisted without certification from Pakistan Standard and Quality Control Authority (PSQCA) and lab tests are also conducted as and when required basis from laboratory of repute.
