USF Company Approves Telephony, E-services Projects For Balochistan,

ISLAMABAD,(UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th Augst,2016) : The board of Directors of Universal Service Fund Company (USF Co) has approved to award a Rural Telephony and e-Services projects for Balochistan and Khyber Paktunkhawa. The projects would be launched in Khuzdar district which includes Karak, Khuzdar, Moola, Zehri, Saroona by Pak Telecom Mobile Limited (Ufone), providing subsidy of Rs 2,418 benefiting an un-served population of about 294,221, covering 725 unserved Mauzas, an official of the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecom told APP. The USF Board also awarded a Rural Telephony and e-Services project encompassing "Chagai Lot" including Mashkhel Tehsil to Pak Telecom mobile Limited (Ufone), providing subsidy of Rs 1,303 million benefiting an un-served population of about 120,729, covering 92 unserved Mauzas.
To a question he said main efforts and development of telecommunication services in un-served and under-served areas across Pakistan were thoroughly discussed in the USF Co Board meeting presided over by its chairperson and Minister of State for IT and Telecom Anusha Rahman Khan.
He said the Board has approved the Annual Budget of USF Co for the Financial Year 2016-2017.
