VC AIOU recognizes 'Mark-e-Haq' as unique demonstration of war skills, making world to learn from Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 9th May, 2026) Vice Chancellor (VC), Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU), Dr Nasir Mehmood on Saturday hailed the modern skills and techniques demonstrated during Marka-e-Haq by Pakistani forces, calling them a unique and rarely witnessed in modern age.

While talking to APP, he paid tribute to national hero's and leadership and people for standing like unbreakable wall in the defence of the country. He also highlighted the role of institutes to adopt latest knowledge and procedures in strengthening themselves.

He emphasized that educational institutions had a central role in strengthening national cohesion by promoting awareness, responsible citizenship and informed academic discourse. "Marka-e-Haq offers immense opportunities, we needed to grab them to make our country economically strong," he said.

He added that after “Marka-e-Haq,” the global narrative regarding Pakistan had shifted significantly, with greater international trust in the country and increasing acceptance of its narrative.

He also noted that it was obvious that the victory could not be attained without the unity and support of people, which was remarkably witnessed during critical time.

He underscored that youth had a key role in shaping Pakistan’s narrative at both at national and global levels. "By engaging in research, innovation and community development, they can help strengthen institutional trust and promote a culture of unity and resilience".

While concluding, he reaffirmed the commitment of Allama Iqbal Open University to incorporate the latest advancements in education, technology, and research into its academic framework, ensuring that students are equipped with modern knowledge and relevant skills to meet emerging national and global challenges.
