VC Discusses Academic Matters With Deans Committee

HYDERABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th july, 2016) - The Vice Chancellor University of Sindh Prof. Dr. Muhammad Siddique Kalhoro Tuesday presided over a meeting of the Deans Committee to discuss the academic matters of the faculties of the university. According to university spokesman, the Deans presented detailed report on various academic and administrative issues pertaining to their respective faculties.
Addressing the Deans, the Vice Chancellor encouraged them to discharge their duties with confidence and honesty within the bounds of their legitimate limits as envisioned in the University Code.
He shared with them the measures initiated by him towards repair, renovation, cleanliness and beautification of the campus and Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah Administration Building. He made a special mention of shifting various shops, stalls and kiosks from sporadic places to one centralized venue to preserve the original beauty of the campus on one hand and to accentuate its decor on the other.
The Vice Chancellor called upon them that from then onwards inspection committee for affiliated colleges would be given under the charge of a Dean, with a view to improve the process and mechanism of scrutiny.
This change would be aimed at enhancing the academic and administrative quality and functioning of the affiliated colleges, he said and informed that a meeting of Finance and Planning Committee would be convened soon.
He called upon Deans to hold consultative sessions with Heads of Departments/ Institutes within their respective faculties to finalize and forward recommendations for approval of the required teaching posts for opportune enactment.
All the participating Deans expressed their confidence in the steps taken by the Vice-Chancellor and assured him of their fullest support and cooperation. The Deans also appreciated the measures introduced by the Vice Chancellor. Among others, Prof.
Dr. Abdullah Dayo, Prof. Dr. Syed Javed Iqbal, Prof. Dr. Nagina Parveen Soomro, Prof. Dr. Muneeruddin Soomro, Prof. Dr. Saleha Parveen, Prof. Dr. Akhtar Hussain Mughal participated in the meeting. Apart from the Deans, Ghulam Muhammad Bhutto, Registrar, University of Sindh and Dr. Shahzad Memon, Director Quality Enhancement Cell attended the meeting.
