
VC SALU Visits Shahdadkot

LARKANA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th August, 2016) : Shah Abdul Latif University (SALU), Khairpur, Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Parveen Shah on Wednesday held a meeting with Deputy Commissioner Shahdadkot Qambar Fayaz Alam Solangi at her office to discuss opening of a university campus The VC informed the Deputy Commissioner that on the directives of the Higher Education Commission (HEC), Islamabad under its umbrella scheme to open the universities at district level of Pakistan and on the directives of the Government of Sindh, the Shahdadkot campus has been approved. Initially the HEC has earmarked Rs 10 million for its operational cost, she added. The vice chancellor suggested DC to allocate an appropriate and suitable building on temporary basis to start the academic session 2017 from January 2017 in the departments of English Language & Literature, business administration and computer & I.T.
Parveen Shah said that the opening of this campus will provide quality education to remote areas of the Sindh and Balochistan and it will create enlighten and moderate society because this area has feudal and tribal clout.
Later, the Vice Chancellor along with the Deputy Commissioner visited the Commercial Institute Building and Sindh Technical Education Centre (Vocational Training Centre) at Shahdadkot and decided that permission from the education & Literacy Department, Government of Sindh would be sought for the establishment of campus at the Sindh Technical Education Centre.
DC Fayaz Alam Solangi assured the Vice Chancellor that he would contact with the department concerned and get the approval for the establishment of the campus in the same building. He made commitment that the repair and renovation work will be carried out by the District Government Shahdadkot.
Moreover, he assured that the land accusation process will be carried out by the District Government for the establishment of campus at separate place. During the visit, the VC Dr Shah also visited the Government Degree College, Shahdadkot and interacted with the teachers.
On the occasion she advised the teachers to curb the menace of copy culture from the concerned college during the ensuing annual examinations 2016. The teachers assured the Vice Chancellor that they will in calculate their efforts for the eradication of copy culture at the centre.
