Young Engineers Urged To Excel And Serve The Nation

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 30th july, 2016) : Internship programme of National Transmission and Dispatch Company Limited (NTDL) is one of the biggest programme where students from engineering, accounts, finance, information technology and human resource disciplines learn and flourish their technical and managerial skills from its experienced manpower of versatile departments. NTDCL Managing Director Dr Fiaz Ahmad Chaudhry expressed these views here Saturday at certificate and stipend distribution ceremony arranged for 234 students of 30 universities of Pakistan, who completed the six-week NTDCL internship programme under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Addressing the ceremony, Dr Fiaz Ahmad Chaudhry said that country was facing lot of challenges including power shortage, owing to increasing demand of electricity, asserting that all possible steps were being taken to increase electricity generation.
The NTDCL, he added, was also improving the existing transmission lines, besides streching new lines to ensure smooth transmission of additional power generation to respective grids. Dr Fiaz Ahmad Chaudhry congratulated the students on successful completion of internship programme and said that their parents and teachers equally deserve congratulations since they had invested time and money on them.
He advised the students to follow the pursuit of excellence and always go for better and best; take the life as challenge and serve the nation by meeting the changing technology trends in power sector.
He asked them to payback the country by utilizing best of their abilities which could only be done through self accountability of every second they spend. The MD also shared his expertise and experiences while working abroad in various power sector projects in multinational companies and said that it was his dream to serve and payback to Pakistan. A written exam of internees was conducted, wherein Burhan Ahmad of UET, Miss Tayyaba of LCWU, Miss Subata Khrushid of Kinnaird College, and Umar Sajjad of University of Sargodha stood first in their disciplines ,respectively. Later, the NTDCL Managing Director gave away certificates along with stipend to the internees.
General managers, chief engineers, finance director, DG HR & Admn, directors and officials of NTDC were also present.
