Alpine skiing: Pinturault in doubt with hand injury

PARIS, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Dec, 2016 ) : France's Alexis Pinturault, second in the World Cup alpine skiing standings, is in doubt for Sunday's giant slalom at Alta Badia, Italy after injuring his hand in training.

The French Ski Federation revealed on Monday that the 25-year-old Olympic bronze medallist suffered bone tearing to a finger during training last week in Switzerland.

Despite the pain and a heavily bandaged hand the French skier competed and won the giant slalom in Val d'Ishre at the weekend, his second victory of the season.

Pinturault -- riding a series of nine giant slalom podiums including six wins -- was eliminated in the second leg of the slalom on Sunday despite the top time in the first leg.
