ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News -29th Augst,2016) : Member Selection Committee Pakistan Cricket board (PCB) and former off spinner Tauseef Ahmed believes that Pakistan team can stage comeback at anytime hence players should be backed and given sometime to settle down. England beat Pakistan by 44 runs in the first ODI while in the second ODI Pakistan lost to England by four wickets.
Both sides will play the third ODI on Tuesday. "Our ODI team comprises several young players, who are playing in English conditions for the first time. The history shows that every team suffer in English conditions and were not an exception," he told APP. Referring to the Sri Lankan cricket team, he said that their performance at English soil prior to the Pakistan series was pathetic but they had shattered a strong Australian outfit at their own home soil.
"As compared to them our boys have done well and I hope they will be producing some good performance in the remaining matches," he said. "We are giving chance to each and every youngster, who has been performing well and whose fitness level is good." he added. He also praised Sarfraz Ahmed and Imad Wasim for their tremendous performance in both the ODIs.
Sarfraz scored 55 and 105 runs in the two ODIs while Imad remained unbeaten in both the matches scoring 17 and 63 runs, respectively. "Other youngsters will soon start performing like Imad they just need sometime," he said. He said Sami Aslam played well in the test matches but got unlucky in ODIs.
