
Olympics: Kerber, Puig To Meet For Tennis Gold

RIO DE JANEIRO, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Augst,2016) - German second seed Angelique Kerber and Puerto Rico's Monica Puig will meet for the gold medal in women's tennis singles at the Rio Olympics. Australian Open champion Kerber beat Madison Keys, the US seventh seed, 6-3, 7-5 in her semi-final.
The 22-year-old unseeded Puig, who will be bidding to win Puerto Rico's first Olympic Games gold medal, defeated two-time Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova 6-4, 1-6, 6-3.
