PITB, PPRA Hold e-Procurement Training at Punjab Institute of Agriculture Marketing

Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB), in collaboration with the Punjab Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA), conducted a comprehensive training session on the e-Procurement system for officials of the Price Control and Commodity Management Department at the Punjab Institute of Agriculture Marketing, Lahore

LAHORE (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Jul, 2025) Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB), in collaboration with the Punjab Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA), conducted a comprehensive training session on the e-Procurement system for officials of the Price Control and Commodity Management Department at the Punjab Institute of Agriculture Marketing, Lahore.

The training was aimed at familiarizing departmental officials with the key functionalities of the e-Procurement platform, designed to enhance transparency, efficiency, and competitiveness in public procurement processes.

PPRA Managing Director (MD) Sahibzada Waseema Umar delivered an in-depth briefing on the policy framework and objectives behind the e-Procurement initiative, while PITB’s technical team provided hands-on training to the participants.

The session was attended by Secretary Price Control & Commodity Management Department Ehsan Bhutta and Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Salma Butt, who appreciated the collaborative efforts to strengthen digital capacity in procurement operations.

In his message, PITB Chairman Faisal Yousaf stated, “The e-Procurement system brings transparency, accountability, and ease of access to the government’s procurement processes. It is aimed at reducing procedural delays and minimize manual errors. PITB remains committed to equipping departments with the tools and training required to embrace digital transformation.”

The e-Procurement system allows vendors from anywhere in Pakistan to submit bids online, eliminating physical paperwork and enhancing the overall accessibility of the procurement process.
