Pre-Monsoon / Flood.
The meeting reviewed in detail the advance arrangements to deal with monsoon rains and possible flood
situations, including cleaning of saline drains, rainwater drains and drainage systems, water disposal
measures, medical facilities, rescue operations and emergency response planning.
On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner directed concerned officers to complete the cleaning of all rain
drains, saline drains and drainage channels before the monsoon season so that rainwater can be drained
promptly from both urban and rural areas.
He said that all departments should keep their machinery, staff and resources on alert to deal with any
emergency situation.
The Deputy Commissioner also instructed officials of Health Department and Rescue 1122 to ensure the
availability of medicines, medical staff and ambulance services in hospitals during possible rains and flood
situations, while the Livestock and other relevant departments were also directed to complete all precautionary
measures.
The DC further directed LBOD officials to expedite the cleaning of all saline drains.
During meeting, the concerned officers briefed participants regarding pre-monsoon arrangements, drainage
projects and precautionary measures, informing that cleaning and drainage work is ongoing in various
areas and would soon be completed.
The meeting was attended by Pakistan Army officer Shoaib, MS PMC Hospital Dr. Yar Ali Jamali, DSP Police Abdul Hameed Jalbani, Deputy Director Livestock Dr. Aijaz Hussain Laghari, Rescue Incharge Zeeshan Zardari, Assistant Commissioner Sakrand Rameez Raja, and officers from Health Department, Irrigation, LBOD, Rohri Canal, Drainage
and other relevant departments.
