
China Completed World's Biggest Radio Telescope In Guizhou

China, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 9th july, 2016) : China has elevated the final piece into position on what will be the world’s largest radio telescope, which it will use to investigate space and help in the chase for celestial life.
The Five Hundred Metre Aperture Spherical Telescope, is the size of 30 football grounds and has been engraved out of a mountain in the south-western province of Guizhou. Deputy Head of the National Astronomical Observation under the Chinese academy of Sciences, Zheng Xiaonian, which built the telescope, told, Scientists would initiate sorting out and testing of the telescope.
According to the Xinhua news agency, Zheng said, the project has the prospective to look for more eccentric objects to better comprehend the origin of the universe and improve the worldwide chase for outer space life.
The telescope is predictable to initiate operations in September, which has taken about five years to build. President Xi Jinping said, advancing China’s space programme is a priority for Beijing, to establish the country as a space power. China’s aspirations comprise constructing a space station and placing an astronaut on the moon by 2036. It has initiated work on the latter.
