Next Astana Meeting on Syria to Be Held in Mid-February - Lavrov

The new round of Astana talks on the Syrian settlement are planned for mid-February in the Kazakh capital, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said Monday

MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 28th January, 2019) The new round of Astana talks on the Syrian settlement are planned for mid-February in the Kazakh capital, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said Monday.

"We very much appreciate the efforts of our friends to facilitate high-level international meetings on Syria.

The next such meeting is planned in Astana in the middle of the coming month," Lavrov said at talks with his Kazakh counterpart Beibut Atamkulov.

Astana regularly hosts meetings of Iran, Turkey and Russia, the three guarantors of the Syrian settlement.
