US Envoy Visits Sudan

WASHINGTON,(APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News -29th Augst,2016) : The US special envoy for Sudan and South Sudan is visiting Khartoum and the war-wracked Blue Nile border state from Sunday, American officials said. Earlier this month, US Secretary of State John Kerry announced an additional $138 million in aid for South Sudan, where 2.
5 million people have been uprooted by war since December 2013 and close to half the population is in need of emergency food aid. His envoy, Donald Booth, will meet with a "range of people in Blue Nile State affected by the conflict" during his visit ending Thursday, the State Department said in a statement. In addition to government officials, Booth is due to hold talks with community leaders and other civil society representatives, as well as staff from international organizations.
