
World Observes Population Day Today

(UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th july, 2016) :Population day is being celebrated today. The world population has reached to the figure of 7.4 billion, which if continue to prosper with the same proportion, will reach to the figure of 11.2 billion at the end of 22nd century.
The population day has been celebrated since 1989 on 11th July. According to the reports published by United nation funds for population activities in 2015, 1.8 billion of the population comprises of people from 10 to 24 years, teenagers girls being in the highest proportion.
The world population is increasing with the population of 1.
8 billion per year. Asia constitutes of the biggest proportion of 60% of the world's total population. According to the calculations of UN, Pakistan ranked 6 among the countries possessing the highest populations whose figure can reach to 245 million till 2030.
Punjab is the most populous area in Pakistan. Experts say that the resources are not bearing sufficient increase to cope up the continuously growing population which can create problems in future, which will affect the situation of water and food more adversely.
