520 Animals Given To Widows, Deserving Women

DERA GHAZI KHAN, Nov 9 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 09th Nov, 2016 ) : Punjab government provided 520 goats and sheep to widow and deserving women of tehsil Kot Chhutta on Wednesday. Addressing a ceremony in this connection, MPA Sardar Mehmood Qadir Leghari said the Punjab government was taking practical steps for promotion of livestock sector.
The main objective to offer goats and sheep to deserving women was to empower them economically, he added. Officials of Livestock department informed that women could not sell these animals within a period of three years, adding the animals would be insured.
In case of death of any animals, the dead body would be handed over to the Livestock department. Similarly, Livestock department experts would visit houses of these women for vaccination of animals, they added.
On this occasion, DG Livestock Dr Qurban Hussain, Director Livestock Multan Division Dr Mansoor Ahmed, EDO Agriculture Abdul Ghafoor Ghaffari and other officers were also present.
