Administration, Religious Scholars Review Security Arrangements For Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH)

RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Aug, 2026) A coordination meeting was held on Monday to review security arrangements and peace measures for the upcoming celebrations of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) across Rawalpindi Division.
The meeting was jointly attended by Chairman Mutahida Ulema board and Council of Islamic Ideology Punjab Member Mufti Intikhab Ahmad Noori, Commissioner Rawalpindi Division Salman Ghani, and Regional Police Officer (RPO) Babar Sarfraz Alpa. Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi Captain (Retd) Nadeem Nasir, City Police Officer (CPO) Syed Khalid Hamdani and other senior administrative officials were present on site, while Deputy Commissioners from other divisional districts participated via video link.
Addressing the meeting, Mufti Intikhab Ahmad Noori said that administrative and security preparedness for Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) is being actively evaluated at divisional and district levels in accordance with directives from Chief Minister Punjab.
He emphasized that religious scholars must play a leading role in cultivating intellectual harmony and guiding youth in accordance with the teachings of Seerat-un-Nabi (PBUH).
Commissioner Salman Ghani commended the religious scholars for their continuous support in maintaining interfaith peace during Muharram, assuring that robust measures were in place to preserve tranquility during Eid Milad-un-Nabi. Regional Police Officer (RPO), Babar Sarfraz Alpa outlined that comprehensive security protocols have been designed in close consultation with Ulema and local stakeholders.
Deputy Commissioner Captain (Retd) Nadeem Nasir reiterated that religious hatred or sectarian strife would not be tolerated under any circumstances, highlighting the operational role of district peace committees in safeguarding civic harmony. The meeting concluded with special prayers led by Mufti Intikhab Ahmad Noori for national prosperity and state security.
