Bahawalpur Divided Into Four Sectors For Flood Fighting Arrangements

BAHAWALPUR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22th july, 2016) : District Co-ordination Officer (DCO) Bahawalpur Dr. Ehtisham Anwer Mahaar has said that district Bahawalpur has been divided into four sectors for effective flood fighting arrangements.
He made these remarks while giving a briefing to media regarding flood fighting arrangements at his conference room. DCO said that the first sector Chanab covers tehsil Ahmadpur east through 2 sub sectors which include Chanab I and Chanab II, Sutlej I covers tehsil Bahawalpur city, Sutlej II is meant for Bahawalpur Sadar while sector Sutlej 3rd and 4th have been devised to cover tehsil Khairpur Tamewali and Hasilpur respectively.
DCO further said that comprehensive and effective flood fighting arrangements have been made by constituting a district flood fighting sector co-ordination committee.
The concerned Assistant Commissioners of the tehsils have been designated as focal persons of this committee.
The sector co-ordination committee's members include local parliamentarians, representative of irrigation department, TMO, DSP, in-charge Rescue 1122, medical and veterinary officers of concerned tehsils.
DCO further said that 300 rescue officials of Rescue 1122 have been provided training through the Pak Army regarding water rescue activities. He further said that 2 mock exercises have already been conducted on May 2nd and June 1st which had the active participation of the concerned officers and officials of the local administration, Pak Army, police, Rangers, Rescue 1122, Civil defense, health department, Agriculture department and live-stock department at river Sutlej.
